Bonded Warehouse Facility

A customs warehouse serves to store customs goods (non-European goods on which no customs duties have been paid). Reasons for not importing goods directly into free circulation are:

• Postponement of payment of customs duties (import duties, VAT, anti-dumping duties and agricultural levies).
• Final destination unknown. In other words, if goods are re-exported, no customs duties are due and can be saved.

To use a warehouse, a customs license is required. SILS is in possession of a customs permit bonded warehouse and applies it to internal and external storage locations.
